C.C. Lippincott rites Saturday: dies on Tuesday

Colfax - Funeral services for Crawford C. Lippincott, 69, a lifelong resident of Colfax and longtime owner-operator of Economy Oil Co. in Colfax, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Walter-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.

The Rev. Paul Soderquist, pastor of the Colfax Presbyterian Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Colfax Cemetery.

Memorail contributions to the Colfax Library will be accepted.

He died Tuesday at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

Mr. Lippincott, a former city councilmen, had been a member of the Colfax Library Board at the time of his death.

Survivors are his wife, Claudia, and two daughters, Mrs. Warren (Ann) Corrado of Korea and Dorra Lippincott of Midland, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Lippincott was a member of the Riverside Masonic Lodge, Colfax American Legion, National Rifle Association, Ducks Unlimited and a number of amateur trapshooting associations.

Mr. Lippincott, who had retired in 1978 was a Navy veteran of World War II.

The son of Frank and Christine Crawford Lippincott, he was born February 6, 1911 in Colfax, was a 1928 graduate of Colfax Cummunity High School and attended Iowa State University in Ames.

He was married to Claudia Rodgers Nov. 3, 1946 in Colfax.
