WOODSTOCK – Aubrey F. ""Bud"" Kriegermeier, 89, of Woodstock, passed away Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, surrounded by his family.
Bud was born Jan. 22, 1924, in High Hill, Mo., the fourth of seven children of William and Mary (Fenslage) Kriegermeier. He grew up in Moulton, Iowa.

He served two years as a Fireman First Class in Division 6 submarine service in World War II in the South Pacific, and six months in the Atlantic theatre on Patrol E Scout.

Bud married Alice Conn on June 28, 1945, in Kansas City, Mo. They lived in Runnells, Iowa; Newton, Iowa; Centerville, Iowa; Des Plaines; Unionville, Iowa; and Woodstock.

Bud was an avid sportsman and held the skeet shooting record at Fort Sheridan, 298 out of 300 shots. He loved woodworking and created many beautiful pieces for those he loved.

Bud served as Scoutmaster to Troop 114 in Des Plaines and also as Sunday school superintendent at the Unionville Baptist Church in Unionville, Iowa. He was employed as a mechanic and rental manager and was also the service manager at Vaughn Chevrolet and Cadillac in Ottumwa, from which he retired in 1992.

He was a member of Post 407 of the American Legion and a member of the Unionville Baptist Church.

Bud and Alice raised three sons, Stuart, Barry and Stephen. He had seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and declared that every one of them was smart as a whip.

He is survived by his wife, Alice; sons, Stuart (Linda), Barry (Pat) and Steve (Elisabeth); his seven grandchildren, Stuart Kriegermeier Jr. of Chicago, Eric (Kristy Poteete) Kriegermeier of Wheaton, Brynne (Christian) Sutton of Houston, Texas, Ross Kriegermeier of Woodstock, Stephanie Kriegermeier of Schaumburg, Dr. Alyssa (fiancé Daniel Tobon) Kriegermeier of Chicago and Mike Kriegermeier of Chicago; his seven great-grandchildren, John, Pete, Kate and Tom Sutton of Houston, Thaís and Thalía Kriegermeier of Wheaton and Ria Kriegermeier Pride of Schaumburg; his sister, Mary Ann Daugherty of Centerville, Iowa; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Carl Henry ""Hank"", Dyer and Wayne Kriegermeier; and two sisters, Jane Childs and Julia Walls.

Bud was a heck of a nice guy and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, with a memorial service at 7 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake.
