Teryl Kirk Taber (Kirk) of Owings Mills, Md., died from terminal cancer Aug. 13, 2013, at age 57.

He was born in Kellogg March 16, 1956, to Leon and Lucille (Cunningham) and graduated in 1974 from Newton High School. He was employed in the tire industry throughout most of his career.

Kirk is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jean (Reinhardt) Taber, who describes him as her dear husband and best friend. He is also survived by his mother, Lucille; sisters Lavert Bientema and Patricia Brown, and brother Michael, all of Newton, as well as a brother Delvin, who lives in Pomona, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. Kirk was preceded in death by his father Leon; and brother David.

Kirk enjoyed collecting guitars and caring for family pets.
