FUNERAL RITES
HELD SATURDAYFuneral services were held Saturday at the Johnson funeral home in Newton for Charles C. Culter, 91, a resident of Kellogg since 1942, who died Thursday at a Newton hospital.
The Rev. Glen Warner of Kellogg conducted the services. Burial was in the Odd Fellows cemetery in Indianola.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Katharine Jacobs of Kellogg with whom he had made his home since moving to Kellogg; a son, V.M. Culter of Iowa Falls; six grandchildren; and a great grandchild.
The son of Theodore and Jane Culter, he was born Oct. 7, 1865 in Putnam county, Ill. He was married to Elizabeth Smith in Florida, Ill., in 1897. Mrs. Culter died in 1935.
As a young man Mr. Culter taught school for six years, before entering farming. He came to Iowa in 1896 and resided in Indianola for several years before moving to Kellogg after his retirement from farming.
