Vernon Wayne Main (1930 - 2013)

Vernon Wayne Main, of Bermuda Dunes, Calif. fell asleep in death June 12, 2013 from Alzheimer's disease. He was born June 23, 1930 in Newton, Iowa to Orin and Olive Main. He retired from Santa Fe RR as a civil engineer. He loved to travel with his wife of 42 years and spent countless hours volunteering for many charities. Vernon is survived by his wife, Bea Main of Bermuda Dunes, Calif.; daughters: Connie (Ron) Mishler of Hollywood, S.C., Sharon (Mark) Diamond of Rogers, Ark.; stepson; Paul (Jean) Archer of Summerfield, Fla; sisters: Marybelle Hesson, Norma Jean Holden and granddaughters; Jill, Melissa, Shannon and Baylee. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 17, 2013 followed by a service at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Indio Calif. with a graveside service at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Desert Memorial Park. FitzHenry-Wiefels Palm Desert is in charge of arrangements.
