Grace A. (Huyser) Vander Werff, 92, of Newton, formerly of the Killduff area, died on Sunday, May 26, 2013, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Burial will follow at the Sully Cemetery in Sully.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials to the Killduff United Methodist Church or to the Newton Village Building Fund may be left at the funeral home. Memorials also may be mailed to the funeral home, please add, Attn: Vander Werff Family on the envelope.
Survivors include her children, Bryce (Charlotte) Vander Werff of Kellogg, Lehrl (Marilyn) Vander Werff of Des Moines, John (Anne) Vander Werff of Pleasant Hill and Carla (Musa) Vander Werff of Oman; her son-in-law, Jim Regur of Newton; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild; her siblings, Amy Ver Steegt of Newton and Norman (Lareatha) Huyser of Newton; her brother-in-law, Gary (JoAn) Vander Werff of Des Moines; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Vander Werff; daughter, Mary Regur; two brothers; and two sisters. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News Website.

Grace was a graduate of Sully High School in Sully, Iowa with the Class of 1938.
Grace was a homemaker, and she also worked as a nurse’s aide at Skiff Medical Center in Newton for 17 years, retiring in 1982.
Grace was a member of the Killduff United Methodist Church, and of Richland Grange. She enjoyed sports; she liked to watch the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Iowa State Cyclones. She also enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, baking and cooking, traveling, and mushroom hunting.
