Zenus Daugherty Burns was born Feb. 5, 1875, at Centerville, York, Co., Penn. He came to Biggsville, Ill., in March 1896 and in Dec., 1906, to Newburg, Iowa where he died Feb. 8, 1907. Feb. 7, 1900, he was united in marriage with Miss Lena Grace Garrison at Burlington, Iowa.
He was converted and joined the M.E. church in Feb., 1898, and has been a member of that church ever since.
Mr. Burns leaves besides his wife, two sons, Elmer Zenus and Clarkson Hilbert, also his father, H.T. Burns of Tarkio, Mo., one sister, Miss Ella Burns of Tarkio, and four brothers, C.A. of Fort Morgan, Col., W.L. of Blake, Maryland, E.E. and C.H. of Tarkio, Mo.
His mother and one sister have preceded him to the spirit world.
The funeral was conducted from the U.B. church Monday at 11 o'clock by Rev. Mr. Munster assisted by Rev. Mr. Breeden and Rev. Mr. Violet. Interment in U.B. cemetery.
