Ann Newquist Dunning passed away on April 1, 2013. Condolences may be sent to: Dwan Dunning, 405 Central Ave., Alameda, Calif. 94501.

Ann was the daughter of Edward and Elise Newquist. She was born and raised in Newton and was a 1951 graduate of Newton High School. She went to work for United Airlines in Chicago in 1954. That is where she met her husband, Cecil Dunning, who also worked for United. They were married in 1955 and moved to the San Francisco Bay area. They raised their family there and lived in and around the area the rest of their lives.

She is survived by her daughter, Dwan Dunning; her grandson, Benjamin Dunning, and many friends.

Ann lost her husband just one month earlier, on Feb. 28, 2013. She lost her son, Christopher, in 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Gwendolyn Barrett. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News Website.
