Walt Chandler, 72, of Urbandale, passed away May 2, 2013 at Mercy Hospital from injuries following a car accident. Per Chandler’s request, there will be no services

Chandler was born Oct. 26, 1940 and drove for Rock Island Freight, Pulley Trucking Co. and Hawkeyes Trucking. Chandler belonged to Teamsters.

He is survived by Jeff and Stacy Chandler of Des Moines; Val Chandler of Davis, Ill., Randy Chandler of Des Moines, and son Robert Flisher of Des Moines; brother Jerry Chandler of Newton, sister Barb Lemonds of Davenport; grandchildren Crystal Flisher of Des Moines, Ethan Chandler of Davis, Ill., Aylinn and Delyn Chandler of Des Moines; and great-grandson Devin Bentley of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Christian (Sissy) Flisher of Des Moines. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News Website.
