Mrs. Rachel Bigelow died Saturday at the home of her son, L. M. Bigelow at the ripe age of 87 years.

Deceased was born in Licking County, Ohio, June 9, 1816. They came to Newton in 1865 and this had been the family home ever since. Mr. Bigelow died in October 1881. During the subsequent years Mrs. Bigelow made her home with her children, living the past few years at the home of L. M. Bigelow, where she passed away Saturday.

Mother Bigelow is survived by five sons and two daughters: B. F., of Jamestown, S. D., Lowell M. and Mrs. Ida Scholes of this city, Mrs. Hattie Nicodemus, Ankeny, Marsh H., Corning, and P. B. and E. A. of Harrison, Neb.

Deceased had been a member of the Presbyterian Church since childhood and died in full faith of a reward for her many good deeds done during this life. The funeral was held this afternoon in the Presbyterian Church.
