Carolyn Dick passed away quietly in her sleep on April 11th, she was 70. She leaves behind an empty space in many hearts. A lifelong resident of Colfax, she could always be found at the Senior Citizens Center on weekdays or at the Christian Church on Sunday. When not in Colfax, she would be in Washington, DC with her son and son in law where she enjoyed vacationing. She crossed the divide between Iowa and Washington with ease having a large circle of loving, caring friends in each. On the occasion of her 70th birthday, she not only chose to celebrate her birthday in Washington, but decided that was where she wanted to move in the fall of 2013.Carolyn was the third of four children of Mike and Carrie Marcsisak. She married John Dick in 1967 and bore two sons, Michael, who was stillborn in 1969 and Jay in 1971. She was preceded in death by her husband, older brother John, and her parents. She is survived by her son Jay, his husband Chuck Salvetti and her sisters and brothers in law, Evanna and Marty Ogden and Mary K. and C.P. Damon.
