D. L. Clark died last night about midnight at his home on North Scott Street, having been ill but two or three hours. Last evening he went to the barn with a lantern to look after matters and was found lying there later, his lantern tipped over. It was not known whether he fell or was stricken with heart failure.

He had been in usual health yesterday and was quite robust and hardy for one of his age. He was born in New York 80 years ago the fourth of last January and came to Iowa 46 years ago last spring.

The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at three o’clock at the residence, John C. Black, rector of St. Stephen’s Parish, officiating.
