The announcement of the sudden death this morning at 4:50 of Mrs. D. H. Burnett at her home on High Street was indeed a shock to her friends. She had been a strong, healthy woman for most of her years, being sixty-nine the fourth of last April.

Saturday she had an attack of cholera morbus which affected her heart action to such an extent that death ensued.

Mrs. Burdett had been a resident of Newton for the past sixteen years. Three children survive her, D. L. Burnett of Newton, C. E. Burnett of Rock Island and Mrs. C. J. Orrell of Des Moines, all of whom are here now.

The funeral will be held at her home on High Street tomorrow afternoon at 3:30. Rev. E. F. Leake, her pastor, will officiate. Interment will be at the cemetery in the family lot where her husband D. H. Burnett, was buried two years ago.
