James Murphy of Pittsfield, Ill., brother of J. W. Townsend and D. W. Murphy and Mrs. C. Zink and Mrs. C. A. Trevits of Jasper County, died June 1st of paralysis, aged 76 years, 6 months and 11 days. He had lived in Pittsfield about 51 years.
