Some time ago the HERALD spoke of Mrs. Alma Cozad of Taintor having gone to Iowa City for an operation for the removal of a tumor back of her left eye. Unfortunately the relief sought for did not result and Mrs. Cozad passed away last Thursday in Iowa City. ~ The Newton Daily Herald, Newton, IA, Monday, April 13, 1903, Page 1, Column 3
