John Van Baren, one of the wealthy and influential citizens of Palo Alto Township, died Saturday morning. His funeral occurred Sunday and the remains were taken to a former home in Marion County for interment.

Death of John Van Baron

John Van Baren died at his home two and a half miles north of Reasnor, on Friday morning, January 2, 1903, at the age of 53 years and 13 days after a lingering illness of several months. He leaves a loving wife, six sons and two daughters to mourn his loss. His full resignation to the will of an allwise loving Heavenly Father and faith in Christ as our Saviour who had led him through life’s journey, is their comfort and strength in this their hour of deep sorrow and bereavement.

We desire to thank those of our friends who so nobly assisted us during the illness of our beloved husband and father, whom the Lord saw fit to remove from our home. Our sorrow has been alleviated much by the kindness of dear friends in our hour of affliction, and may He who lightens the care and burdens of those who love him, bless them.
