Again the death messenger has visited Monroe and taken an honored and dearly beloved wife and mother. Mrs. Daniel Roush passed to rest Thursday, Jan. 15, 1903, after weeks of suffering from a complication of diseases. She was the mother of twelve children, seven sons and three daughters, who are still living and were present at the funeral, which took place from the late home of deceased Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Six of the sons were pallbearers and one carried the flowers. Rev. Ross, pastor of the M. E. Church, conducted the service. Mrs. Roush was 67 years, 10 months and 1 day old. A large procession followed the remains to the Monroe Cemetery where they were laid to rest by loved ones. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson Roush of Des Moines came down to attend the funeral.
