The funeral services of Jacob Nicodemus, a pioneer settler of Jasper County, was held from his farm home, three and a half miles north of Colfax yesterday. Mr. Nicodemus was born in Ohio in 1823, removed to Iowa in 1853, locating on the farm where he has lived for half a century. His wife died six years ago, since which time he has made his home with his youngest son. He leaves five sons and two daughters, all of whom were present at the funeral.
