Little Alta Marie Buckingham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I. A. Buckingham, was born October 3, 1917, and died at her home November 25, 1917, aged seven weeks and three days.
Funeral services were held in the Brethren church at one o’clock Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. I. W. Brubaker. Interment at cemetery at Monroe, Iowa.
She leaves to mourn her loss a father and mother, a sister Edna Evelyn, a brother, Warren E., and many other relatives and friends.
Although her stay with us on earth was short, she had crept into our hearts and endeared herself to us in many ways. We feel that her mission on earth has been fulfilled and that this little bud has made us better individuals for its existence.
Though we feel the vacancy in the home and community, it was God’s will that Alta be taken home in her infancy and we like to think of her as one of our treasurers in heaven.
The relatives from a distance to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. W. I. Buckingham, from Hampton, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Romick from Colfax, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Cole, from Lynnville, Iowa and Sergeant T. C. Holy from Camp Dodge, Iowa.
