Visitation: The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the funeral home.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 28, 2012 at the funeral home.
Interment: Following the funeral service on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Newton Union Cemetery.

Those left to honor Laura's memory include her husband, Al of Newton; 4 daughters: Pam Dyer (fiance, Dwight Clevenger) of Missouri, Denice Smith of Missouri, Laura (Gary) Motarie of Newton, and Susan (Rob) Ham of Reasnor; 9 grandchildren: Jamie Jeter, Kalee Carey, Cory Wilcox, Andrea Davis, Tyler Danley, Taylor Danley, Treyton Ham, Emma Ham, and Grace Ham; 9 great-grandchildren; her brother, David (Alicia) Young of St. Louis; and many nieces and nephews.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Florence (Smith) Young; her daughter, Debra; and a brother, Ronald Young.

Laura been a nurses' aide and had worked in the kitchen at the Murray Community Schools. She had also worked at Central College and at Willowbrook Adult Daycare in Newton. She also devoted much of her time to taking care of her family. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Newton and the Church of Christ in Murray, Iowa.

Memorials to Skiff Hospice may be left at the funeral home.
