Mrs. Walter Joseph (Letha M.) Kane, 80, of Embassy Manor Care Center, formerly of Suncrest Village, died this morning, Jan. 10, at the Manor.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

The Rev. E. William Kaska, pastor of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Colfax Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11.

Survivors are two brothers, Cecil Decker of Moulton and Ivan Decker of Centerville; and a sister, Blanche Roush of Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband April 3, 1956, a brother, Oakley Decker and three sisters, Forrest Hendrickson and Lois Steele and one in infancy.

The daughter of Jesse and Lillian Adams Decker, she was born Sept. 9, 1904 in Marion County.

She was married Sept. 24, 1925 in Newton.

Mrs. Kane, a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, moved to Newton in 1925. ~ The Newton Daily News, January 10, 1985, page 1.
