The news of the death of Mrs. J. W. Gibson came as a great shock to her friends today. She had not been in the best of health this spring yet it was not thought that her condition was dangerous. She had not been getting up early as it was thought best that she should get all the rest possible. This morning the housekeeper, Miss Bessie Hiatt, went into the room about half past nine o’clock to see whether the baby was awake and Mrs. Gibson partly turned toward her and pushed the little one toward Miss Hiatt, then turned away again. About ten o’clock Miss Hiatt again went to the bedroom and there found Mrs. Gibson dead.

She at once called in several neighbor ladies and phoned for Mr. Gibson, who is employed at the Parson’s, Rich & Co., feeder works, who immediately got a physician and hurried home but it was found that she was indeed beyond medical skill. Mrs. Gibson was about thirty-seven years old and leaves two children, Earl and Bessie, aged eight and three years. She has a brother living in Marshalltown, one traveling out of St. Louis, while another, Ed Hart, lives in this city.

The cause of her death is pronounced heart trouble. She had been as well as usual last evening, joining a circle of friends on the front porch. The sympathy of all is extended to the sorrowing family.
