G. J. Dix, one of Monroe’s oldest and most highly esteemed citizens, died at his home here Tuesday afternoon with paralysis, super induced by pneumonia suffered last February. He was at one time part owner of the flour and feed mill here, but gave it up to go into the banking business. He was a good citizen, a kind husband and splendid neighbor. The arrangements have not been perfected for the funeral yet. He was 65 years old and leaves a wife and two daughters, Mrs. Minnie Rutter, of Bolder, Col., and Mrs. Alice Snooke.
