Timothy James Campbell III, the son of Tim and Jeannette Campbell of Newton, was born in Evanston, Ill., on July 21, 1943. He passed away peacefully at Skiff Medical Center in Newton, Iowa, on Nov. 1, 2012, at the age of 69.

Tim received a bachelor’s degree in music education from the University of Iowa and a master’s degree in music from Florida State University. He served in the 5th Army Band, Ft. Sheridan, Illinois, and also in the 8th Infantry in Bad Kreuznach, Germany. After his military service, he performed with several European orchestras and he taught elementary school music in the Chicago area. Tim returned to Iowa and worked at a variety of jobs in both Des Moines and Newton.

Tim was a talented musician who sang at the United Methodist Church and played the French horn in the Newton Municipal Band. He also enjoyed writing poetry and painting.

Tim is survived by his daughter, Sandra Krivokuca (Nenad), and his grandson, Timothy Krivokuca, both of Overland Park, Kansas. He is also survived by one brother and seven sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Progress Industries, 519 E. Third St., Newton, Iowa 50208. The Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory will be handling the arrangements. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News.
