Joyce Ann Woodruff (1937-2012)

Joyce Ann Woodruff was born Aug. 11, 1937 in Shambaugh to Henry Woodruff and Lucille (Linebaugh) Woodruff. She was married to Darrell Parrott July 11, 1954 until his death in 1980. Joyce was a member of the First Christian Church, Clarinda, and a deacon there for 15 years. She was a phone operator at the Clarinda State Hospital and a member of the D.A.R. Joyce was married to Ralph Crawford in 1982 and divorced in 2004. She enjoyed her special dog companions, Caesar and Sophie.

She passed away at her home in Clarinda Monday afternoon, Sept. 10, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Darrell Parrott, son Terry Parrott, and sister Ruth Haley.

Joyce is survived by four children: son Dennis Parrott and wife Nancy of Newton, Iowa, daughters Debra Reed and husband Dennis of Clarinda, Tamara Branigan and husband Mike of Emerson, Iowa, and son Randall Parrott of Clarinda; brother Richard Woodruff of Des Moines, Iowa, sisters Mary Eberly of Cheney, Washington and Florence Cross of Claremore, OK, brothers Claire Woodruff of Moscow Mills, MO, Sam Woodruff of Shambaugh, IA, sister Vicki Lasley of Clarinda; 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren with 2 on the way; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012 at Eickemeyer Funeral Chapel with Rev. Beckie Linn Gregory officiating. Interment was at Clarinda Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Clarinda Humane Society. Eickemeyer Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements. www.EFC.cc.
