Dorothy B. (Romans) Wearmouth, 93, of Newton died on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 10 A.M. until the time of service. Memorials to the Salvation Army Loan Closet or the Jasper County Courthouse Lighting Fund may be left at the funeral home.

Dorothy, the daughter of Clyde Ely and Mary Ellen (O’Connor) Romans, was born on Aug. 17, 1919, in Reasnor, Iowa. She attended country school in the Reasnor area. Dorothy was united in marriage with Vernon J. Wearmouth on March 11, 1941 in Princeton, Missouri. They made their home in Reasnor where Dorothy was a homemaker. Following Vernon’s death in 1995, Dorothy moved to Newton, Iowa.

Those left to honor Dorothy’s memory are her three daughters, Sheril (David) West of Moravia and their children, Randy (Robin) Repp of Toccoa, GA, Lori (Eric) Waller of Newton, and Alisa (Brian) Marshall of Newton; Patty (Tom) Kaldenberg of Newton and their children, Kimberly (Kert) Schnell of Newton, Kristin (Wesley) Breckenridge of Newton, Tommy (Mary) Kaldenberg of Sully, Kelly (Ed) Kraemer of Reasnor, Ryan (Charity) Kaldenberg of Knoxville, Adam (Kara) Kaldenberg of Pella, and Katelyn (Korry) Stephenson of Reasnor; Wendy (Jim) Cleverley of rural Newton and their children, Traci Schutty of Newton, Lindsay Schutty of Newton, and Alex Cleverley of rural Newton and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon; son, Ronald V. Wearmouth; and her six brothers and sisters. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, October 8, 2012.
