Gerald D. “Jerry” White, 71, of Newton died on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at his home. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. There will be a time of coffee following the service. Memorials to the Salvation Army may be left at the funeral home.

Jerry, the son of Charles and Mable Lois (Debolt) White, was born on Nov. 29, 1940, in Colfax, Iowa, where he then grew up. Jerry was united in marriage with Karen Hickman on June 4, 1960, in Newton, Iowa. They were blessed with four boys: Jim, Jeff, Jon and Joel. While living in Newton Jerry was a salesman for Newton Manufacturing and worked for the Parsons Company. In 1971, Jerry and his family moved to Colorado, and later moved to California and Florida before Jerry moved back to Iowa in the mid 1990’s.

Those left to honor Jerry’s memory are his mother, Lois White of Newton; four sons, Jim (Rhonda) White of Pilot Point, Texas, Jeff (Patti) White of Lawrenceville, Ga., Jon (Laurie) White of Castle Rock, Colo., and Joel (Jennifer) White of Englewood, Colo.; 10 grandchildren, Adam, Tom, Chris, Ryan, Tanyr, Justin, Madelynn, Janasea, Jackson, and Jaiden; his one great-grandson, Jakob; four brothers, Darwin White of Riverside, Calf., Ron White of Las Vegas, Nev., Dennis White of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Douglas White of Des Moines; three sisters, Patty Cameron of Delta, Cheri Oliver of Des Moines, and Carolyn Deitrick of Newton; the mother of his children, Karen George of Thorton, Colo.; and his many nieces and nephews. Gerald “Jerry” D. White, the son of Charles and Mable Lois (Debolt) White, was born on November 29, 1940 in Colfax, Iowa, where he then grew up at. Jerry was united in marriage with Karen Hickman on June 4, 1960 in Newton, Iowa. They were blessed with four boys: Jim, Jeff, Jon, and Joel. While living in Newton Jerry was a salesman for Newton Manufacturing and worked for the Parsons Company. In 1971, Jerry and his family moved to Colorado and later moved to California and Florida, before Jerry moved back to Iowa in the mid 1990’s. Jerry was a very meticulous person in everything he did. He had a big personality and loved John Wayne, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and WWF and AWA Wrestling. Jerry was always a true gentleman and had a deep love for his mother and four boys. Jerry died on Monday, October 1, 2012 at his home in Newton. He was 71. Jerry was preceded in death by his father and 2 brothers, Dave and Carroll White. Those left to honor Jerry’s memory are his mother; Lois White of Newton; four sons, Jim (Rhonda) White of Pilot Point, Texas, Jeff (Patti) White of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Jon (Laurie) White of Castle Rock, Colorado, and Joel (Jennifer) White of Englewood, Colorado; ten grandchildren, Adam, Tom, Chris, Ryan, Tanyr, Justin, Madelynn, Jenasea, Jackson, and Jaiden; his one great-grandson, Jakob; four brothers, Darwin White of Riverside, California, Ron White of Las Vegas, Nevada, Dennis White of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Douglas White of Altoona; three sisters, Patty Cameron of Delta, Cheri Oliver of Des Moines, and Carolyn Deitrick of Newton; the mother of his children, Karen George of Thorton, Colorado; and his many nieces and nephews.

Memorials to the Salvation Army may be left at the funeral home.
