October 29, 1924 - September 18, 2012

Rose Maxine Clark, age 87 passed away early Tuesday morning at Skiff hospital in Newton. Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the Colfax Cemetery.

The daughter of Mike and Anna Nikolish, Rose was born October 29, 1924 in Williamson, Iowa. She attended grade school at Williamson, and then graduated in 1942 from Chariton High School in Chariton, Iowa.

On September 13, 1952 she was united in marriage to Robert E. Clark of Colfax. They were married at the Methodist Church in Waterloo, Iowa. They made Colfax their home for the 60 years of their marriage.

Rose and Bob spent many winters in Texas, and enjoyed the friendships they had there. Rose worked at the Vernon Company in Newton for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Colfax.

Those honoring her memory are Bob Clark, her loving husband of 60 years, a brother Slavia (Nick) and his wife Jackie from Holiday Lake, Brooklyn, Iowa, a niece, Donna Castings Gray and her husband, Kent and family in Georgia, a nephew, Wayne Nikolish and his wife, Judi and family in Clive, Iowa, a niece, Carol Cochran and husband Tim and family of Mitchellville, Iowa, a nephew, Gary Nikolish in Texas, a nephew, Kevin Nikolish and his wife Kendra and family of Brooklyn, Iowa, and a sister-in-law, June Nikolish now residing in Texas.

Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother, Rudy Nikolish of Colfax, a brother, Charles Nikolish and his wife Norma of Urbandale,Iowa, a sister Nevinka (Nicky) Castings and her husband Clifford Castings of Colfax, and a niece, Linda Nikolish of Colfax.

There will be no public visitation. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Foundation, Hospice of Central, Iowa or the United Methodist Church in Colfax, Iowa. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home Website.
