William Almond Loomis died very suddenly at his home in this city Monday evening. He had not been strong for a year or more, having about that long ago suffered a severe attack of la grippe, which left him in bad shape. Monday evening he walked into his bedroom and laid down, expiring at once. This was about 9 o’clock.

Deceased was born September 15, 1830, in Portage County, Ohio. He went to Colorado in 1859 and came here ten years later. He was married in Colorado to Annie Penman, who, with two daughters, survives him. The daughters are Mrs. Curtis Moffit and Mrs. Lou Edge. Another daughter was killed by the cars several years ago. Until five years ago the family lived on a farm north of Newton.

Mr. Loomis had been a member of the Presbyterian Church since 1885. The funeral was held at the house Wednesday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. R. F. Chambers of the Presbyterian Church officiating.
