Prairie City – Ira Bisbee, an old settler here and a man past 90 years of age, died Friday and the remains taken to Newton for interment Monday.

Mr. Ira Bisbee died April 19, 1901. He was born at Brockton, Mass., December 16, 1811. He came to Newton, Iowa, in l862.

His only son, Algernon Sidney, died shortly after at the age of 25 years.

In 1865 he and his only daughter, Annie, came to Prairie City to live.

He united with the New Jerusalem church at an early age.

He was taken back to Newton for burial.
