Died – Tuesday morning, Jan. 29th, at her home six miles north of Colfax, Mrs. G. M. Wilson.

Mrs. Wilson, whose maiden name was Susan Webster Briggs, was born in 1841, near Linesville, Penn. She came to Iowa in 1853, and had been a resident of Jasper County since 1855. She was married in 1861 to John W. Baker, of the well-known Baker family of the Greencastle neighborhood. A few months after the marriage the young husband entered the war in the 13th Iowa. He died at Jeffersonville, Mo., while in hospital. To them one daughter was born, Mrs. C. L. Dotson, of Des Moines. In 1867 she married G. M. Wilson, and to them three children were born. The husband and four children are living and were at the bedside of the good wife and mother when she peacefully breathed her last. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at two o’clock at the Union Chapel Cemetery.
