The funeral of Mrs. Sally Sanders was held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clement Brooks, on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, Rev. J. C. Willits conducting the service. Mrs. Sanders was born in New York April 25, 1817. In 1855 she came with her husband to Iowa, settling in Jasper County, where she has continued to live ever since. Her husband died on their farm northwest of Newton in 1893. Since then she has made her home with her daughter in this city. She was the mother of 11 children, eight of whom survive her. At the age of 11 she united with the Universalist Church, continuing a member of the same until her death.
