Lost Their Infant Son

Kermit Lorenson Patterson, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Patterson, was born at Winterset, Iowa, October 18, 1908 and died December 29, 1909.

Little Kermit came with his parents from Nebraska to spend the Christmas holidays with Newton relatives and took sick just after arriving at the home of his grandparents on Saturday and lived only a few days. He leaves to mourn his loss his father, mother, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Patterson and Mr. and Mrs. Christ Lorenson, also a large number of uncles and aunts and others who had learned to love the little one very dearly.

While they, who mourn, feel it is their loss, yet they know it is Heaven’s gain for the Lord has said, “Suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven.”

The funeral service was held at Oak Grove last Friday at 2 o’clock conducted by Rev. Appleby, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hadley and Mrs. John Tiedje did the singing and the little body was laid to rest in the Newton cemetery.
