Berna J. (Connelly) Bucklin, 62, of rural Baxter died on Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at the Skiff Medical Center taken care of by Skiff Hospice.

Private Family Graveside Services will be held.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.

Memorials to the Jasper County Animal Rescue League and Humane Society or to the Union Chapel Cemetery Association may be left at the funeral home. Memorials may also be mailed to the funeral home. Please add, Attn: Bucklin Family on the envelope.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis of rural Baxter; daughter, Minniette (Matt Milligan) Milligan Bucklin of rural Baxter; her brothers and sisters, Emily Latch of State Center, Phyllis Mouchka of Newton, Jerry Miller of Texas, Linda (Charles) Vansice of Baxter, Sandra (Dorwin) Bucklin of Ira, Martin (Lisa) Connelly of Norwalk, Bruce (Canice) Connelly of Rhodes and Victor (Joyce) Connelly of Colfax; many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Duwane Miller and Everett Connelly; and sister, Sharon Smith-Garr.

Arrangements are being handled by the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News.

Berna was a graduate of Baxter Community High School in 1968.

Berna was co-owner of Bucklin Auto Glass. She was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Baxter.

Berna loved spending time with her family, she also enjoyed gardening, flower gardening, cooking, baking and collecting cook books, having coffee on Sundays, bird watching, reading and completing puzzle books.
