Lorna Elanore Wolver Oswalt was born April 19, 1941 the 9th child of 10 children in Monroe County, Iowa to Floyd and Hazel (Hoit) Wolver. Shortly after she was born, the family moved to a farm near Moulton, Iowa where she was raised attending Moulton School. Lorna married Duane Oswalt on July 11, 1980 and they made their home in Newton, where they both worked and later retired from the Maytag Company. On June 29, 2012, Lorna died at Skiff Medical Center under the care of Skiff Hospice at the age of 71 years, 2 months, and 10 days. Lorna loved life and lived it to the fullest every day. She loved to keep her yard work done to perfection and could often be seen riding around the yard on her favorite John Deere tractor. She liked camping and being outside. Most recently she enjoyed sitting on the front porch, catching the breeze and watching the wildlife. She and Duane enjoyed their neighbors, Dan and Monica Loupee and their “little ones” Chais and Ashlyn “Peanut” for their thoughtfulness and always being there for them. Lorna is survived by her husband, Duane Oswalt of Newton; stepson, Kip Oswalt; step-grandchildren, Christopher Oswalt of Salt Lake City, Utah and Lindsey Oswalt of Newton; a brother, Estel (Reta) Wolver of Moravia; 2 sisters, LaVaughn Wickenkamp of Oskaloosa and Lila (Roland) Singley of Moulton; her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Wolver, Annett Wolver, and Ella Oswalt; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ernest (Alfreda), Marvin, Melvin, and Edwin Wolver; sisters, Lois (Merle) Houser and Lucille (Everette) Curl; her brother-in-laws, George Wickenkamp, Virgil Oswalt, and Gary Oswalt; sister-in-law, Mary Oswalt; and a step-son, Mike Oswalt (father of Chris and Lindsey).

Memorials in Lorna's name may be left at the funeral home.
