Graveside Service: A private family service was held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, June 11, 2012 at the Newton Union Cemetery. Military Honors were done by the American Legion Post 111 of Newton.
Those left to honor Robert's memory are his wife of 69 years, Doris; daughter, Karen Pryke of Newton; son, James (Jenni) Pryke of Newton; his three grandchildren, Megan Pryke of Newton, Rob (Brandi) Pryke of Maryland, and Katy (Steve) Stonehocker of Newton; five great-grandchildren, Allison, Rylie, Mason, Emma and Alex. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Mildred Venator.

Robert was a retired Lt. Commander in the U. S. Coast Guard, serving in the South Pacific during WW II.

Robert was an Insurance Broker for Reed & Carr in New York, New York. He had been an active member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in River Edge, New Jersy. Robert loved going on cruises, he was an avid bowler, and enjoyed watching golf on TV with his daughter.
