Newton, Iowa

Visitation: The family will greet friends from 2-5 p.m., Sunday, May 13, 2012 at the funeral home.
Funeral Service: 1 p.m., Monday, May 14, 2012 at the First Christian Church, 314 E. 2nd St. N. in Newton.
Interment: Immediately following the funeral service (approximately 3 p.m.), Monday, May 14, 2012 at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Lovilia, Iowa.

Those left to honor Evelyn's memory are her daughter, Arlene Lemonds of Newton; her son, Don Lemonds of Hardin, Missouri; her two daughters-in-law, Janet Lemonds of Des Moines, and Barbara Lemonds of Davenport; two grandchildren, Dave (Gina Smith) Lemonds of Hardin, Missouri, and Julie (Jason) Parrett of Bettendorf; her four great-grandchildren, Matthew Dotson, Abigail and Ethan Parrett, and Jaykob Lemonds; sister, Colleen Hanson of Warsaw, Missouri; and brother, Paul Thompson of Pella. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bill Lemonds in 1991; son, Bob Lemonds; six sisters, and three brothers. The family would like to thank Gina for all her loving care she gave Evelyn over the last five weeks.

Evelyn was a care taker of Leona Umbriet for 30 years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of the First Christian Church, she helped with Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, PTA, was a member of the Skiff Hospital Auxiliary, and church circle. Evelyn was a loving and caring wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt, and friend.

MEMORIALS to the First Christian Church may be left at the church on the afternoon of the service or at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. Memorials may also be mailed to the funeral home, if mailing please, add Attn: Lemonds Family on the envelope.
