ALEX LEPARD, 91, KELLOGG, DIES FRIDAY

Alexander J. Lepard, oldest resident of Kellogg and former mayor for several terms, died Friday night at his home in Kellogg. He was 91.

Lepard was born in Ontario, Canada, April 5, 1864, and came to this country as a youngster. He was a railroad bridge builder for the Rock Island, the D.L. and W. Lines before settling in Kellogg in 1913.

He served as justice of the peace and councilman in Kellogg and was elected mayor in 1934 and again in 1944.

He was a past master of the Kellogg Masonic Lodge, past worthy patron of the Eastern Star and an elder of the Christian church for 30 years.

Surviving are his wife, the former Edna Allum whom he married in 1913, an adopted daughter, Mrs. Harold Thompson of Bagley; a step-son, M.H. Sheeham of Woodland, Calif.; a brother, Bert of Des Moines, and a sister, Mrs. Ilda Gittins of Iowa City.

Funeral services will be held at Kellogg with burial in Our Silent City cemetery.
