Leslie Terpstra
Dies Wednesday
Rites Saturday

Monroe - Leslie Dow Terpstra, 78, a resident of Monroe since 1973 and longtime Jasper County and Poweshiek County farmer, died Wednesday at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Monroe United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Jerry Wolcott, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will {be} in the Hewitt Cemetery in Reasnor.

Memorials to the Monroe United Methodist Church will be accepted, Memorials may be left at the funeral home.

Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe is handling arrangements.

Survivors are his wife; two sons, William D. of Ogallala, Neb.; and Darrel of Monroe; a daughter, Mrs. Avery (Dolores) Wilson of Newton; 12 grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Mr. Terpstra was a member of the United Methodist Church in Monroe.

The son of H. D. and Augusta Brodersen Terpstra, he was born Dec 27, 1901 in Reasnor and was a 1921 graduate of Newton Community High School.

He was married to Cecil McConeghey May 24, 1922 in Reasnor.
