Obituary – Mrs. Lettie Wilson was born in Columbus County, Penn., March 9, 1794, and died or rather fell sweetly asleep in Jesus at the close of Sabbath, March 20, 1881. She made a profession of religion and united with the Presbyterian Church at the age of 17 and hence she has served Christ over 70 years.

Those who knew her best knew that her religious life was quiet and unostentatious, seeking to glorify her Saviour more by her words and her calm hallowed influence than by words. She lived for Christ in the training of her children and they “rise and call her blessed.”

Her last days were spent with her children-the last few months with her only daughter, Mrs. Robert McCartney, and as she had lived for them when they were young, they lived for her when she was old. She is not dead, but liveth evermore. So far as her children live for Christ she will live in them, or rather the image of Christ that she reflected on their young hearts, will be forever in turn reflected from them.

Asleep in Jesus blessed sleep,
From which none ever make to weep.
Pastor
