Death of W. E. Hutchinson
Unknown Newspaper

Death relieved the suffering of William E. Hutchinson, 75, Saturday morning following his illness which terminated over a year or more. Those who were with him did not realize he was so near to Death’s Door until he peacefully slipped away.

Mr. Hutchinson was born at Newton, August 19th, 1858, where he was raised. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hutchinson. On March 3, 1888, he was joined in marriage to Miss Anna E. Williams of New Sharon, living at Newton until March 1, 1908, when the family moved to Livermore where they lived on the Peter Brass farm for five years before coming to the Wesely community. One year was spent farming the Apple Treat farm and another on the McEnroe farm. On March 1, 1918, they moved to the town of Wesley, Mr. Hutchinson going into the Draying business which he cared for with untiring labor until a year ago when his health began to fail him. Mr. Hutchinson was a kind and loving father and husband and was a great lover of home. He was always an ambitious laborer but found time to enjoy the pleasant things of life.

Funeral services were held at the home at one o’clock Monday after noon with the Rev. I. C. McNulty in charge. Burial took place in the Evergreen Cemetery and was in charge of Thomas McMahon, Mortician.

He leaves to mourn his death, his wife and eleven living children all of whom were able to be present at the last sad rites of their husband and father. Those surviving are Mrs. Lilly Benskin of Kellogg, Mrs. Lenora Lohr of Fort Dodge, Frank I. Hutchinson of Wilkie, Ellsworth Hutchinson of Madison, South Dakota, Ernest of Wesley, Lloyd of Newton, Mrs. Alice Challstrom of Moorland, Almyr of Wilkie, Mrs. Myrtle Faircloth of Newton, Miss Mary Hutchinson of Fort Dodge, and Mrs. Zella Bergeson of Ossian, Iowa; also one brother I. W. Hutchinson of Rock Island, Illinois. Two children died in infancy.

Those from a distance who attended the funeral included Mrs. Leota Hoit of New Sharon, sister of Mrs. Hutchinson, who had helped tenderly care for him in his illness. Mr. and Mrs. I. W. Hutchinson of Rock Island. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Johnson of Alden, Earl Hutchinson of Madison, and Miss Hattie Mae Benskin of Kellogg.

The family have the sincere sympathy of their many friends and relatives in their bereavement.
