Funeral services for Mable I. Hardenbrook, 82, of t02 E. 19th St. S., a resident of Newton since 1964, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

The Rev. Scott Coulter, pastor of the United Presbyterian Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Palo Alto Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home starting today. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials i her name may be left at the funeral home. She died of cancer Wednesday at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

Survivors are a sister, Martha Woody of Newton; a special friend, Gladys Woody of Newton; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Frank, in 1964, and a sister, Florence Woody, in 1962.

Mrs. Hardenbrook, an executive secretary at Newton Manufacturing Co., until retiring in 1972, was a member of the Newton Manufacturing 25-Year-Club. The daughter of William and Ida Mae Smith Gardner, she was born Nov 6, 1907 in Jasper County and was a 1925 graduate of Newton Community High School. She was married to Frank M. Hardenbrook March 16, 1930 in Toledo.

Mrs. Hardenbrook had resided on a farm south of Newton in Palo Alto Township prior to moving to Newton. - Newton Daily News, Newton, IA, June 21, 1990.
