DR. E.M. NOETHE

Dr. E.M. Noethe, 94, of 108 E. 28th St. S., died of cancer Thursday, May 9, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

A Rosary Service will be held Saturday at 10:30 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newton, with Burial Mass following at 11 a.m. Father Philip Cardenzana, parochial vicar of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Father Gerald Hartz of Sioux City will officiate. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton. Pence Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.

Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the church. Memorials will be accepted in his name or to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

The son of Louis and Susan (Haulbert) Noethe, he was born Aug. 15, 1907, in Alton. He was a graduate of Alton Senior High School and Iowa State University, with a degree in veterinary medicine. On Aug. 15, 1930, he married Roxie Stepp in Omaha, Neb. He entered veterinary practice in Wilmont and Slayton, Minn., in 1931 and retired in 1964. He was employed by the Corn States Lab in Omaha, Neb. He moved to Newton in 1964.

Dr. Noethe was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newton, Knights of Columbus, American Veterinary Medical Association, Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association and the Tri-State Veterinary Medical Association.

Survivors include one sister and a niece and nephew, Leon and Ruth Meis of Grandville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and three sisters.
