John Paul Gargas, 79, a resident of Colfax since 1933, died Friday Jan. 10, at the Skiff Memorial hospital.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.
The Rev. Dick Clark, pastor of the Colfax United Methodist Church conducted the services, burial was in the Colfax Cemetery.
Survivors are his wife, Ellie; a daughter, Mrs. Paul LaPorte of Dallas, Tex; three grandchildren; a brother, Joseph of Newton; and three sisters, Mrs. Ann Jackson and Mrs. Paula McGovern, both of Richmond, Va., and Miss Mary Gargas of Alpine, Tex.
He was preced in death by his parents, five brothers and a son, William.
The son of Martin and Josephine Gargas, he was born July 3, 1895 in Moravia, Austria.
He was married to Ella Reich, Dec 31, 1923 in Aberdeen, S. D.
Mr. Gargas came to the United States in 1907.
