NORMAN EDWARD SMITH

Norman Edward Smith 78, a life long Valeria and Colfax resident died Wednesday Feb. 3, 1999 at Skiff Hospital in Newton Ia.

He was born May 26, 1920 at Clay County, MN., The son of James Glen Smith and Arminda L. Teed Smith.

Norman was united in marriage to Margaret Ann Hunter on August 10, 1947 at Newton.

He was employed many years at the Monroe Table Company, retiring in 1997.

Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers Wayne, Harold and Delmar, one sister Lillian Owens and one nephew. He is survived by his wife Margaret, one daughter Glenna(Mrs. James) Penny of Newton, one son Christopher Smith of Colfax; 3 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and one step-great grandchild and several neices and nephews. Interment Colfax Cemetery Colfax Ia.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Methodist Church Hall for refeshments and fellowship after the committal service.

Norman was a very kind and loving man to all, he will be missed by all who knew him..he was a very special uncle to me.
