SCHULTZ DIES IN NEW YORK

August H. Schultz, 79, long a resident of Kellogg, died Sunday afternoon in Ithaca, N.Y.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Kellogg. The Rev. Ernest Elzey, pastor of the church, officiated. Burial was in Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg.

Memorial contributions to the St. Paul's Church will be accepted. They may be left at the Reese Funeral Home in Newton or at the church.

Born Nov. 15, 1899, in Grinnell, he was the son of August and Doris Schultz. He married Margaret Ruth Turner on July 11, 1919, in Rock Island, Ill.

He operated a cold storage and locker business in Kellogg for 27 years. A few weeks ago, he was awarded the Kellogg Lions Club Citizen of the Year award.

A member of St. Paul's he had served on the church council and the Kellogg city council for a number of years.

Survivors include a son, Dick, of Ithaca, N.Y.; a sister, Mrs. Dora Ray of Marshalltown; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Margaret, his wife; three brothers; and a sister.
