Mrs. Frances Mark Answers Last Call

Frances Alice Baughn, daughter of William and Catherine Baughn, was born March 26, 1843, in Fayette county, Ohio, near Washington court house, where she grew to womanhood. She was the youngest of four children, two brothers and one sister, who have preceded her.

The father died when she was a mere infant and the mother when she was four years of age.

After her mother's death she made her home with her grandmother for a short time, the remainder of the time, until her marriage, was spent with her mother's brother, Jacob Bush.

She was united in marriage with Samuel Mark on March 17, 1863. To this union were born nine children, eight daughters and one son, while at the time of her death, which occurred Saturday morning, January 6, 1912, but four daughters survive her, viz, the following: Rosaltha, wife of W. H. Drake; Lucy, wife of C. B. Scoville; Ada, wife of G. P. Sampson deceased; and Daisy, wife of C. J. Sampson, the other members of the family, including the father, having departed this life previously. Mr. Mark passed away 18 years ago on December 5, 1893. She also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren.

Deceased was converted in early womanhood and united with the M. E. church in Attica, Iowa, remaining a member of this branch of the church ever since.

During the last days of her illness she suffered much and would frequently call upon her Saviour to take her from her suffering. Through all her sickness and pain she was ever patient and solicitous as to the welfare of others.

The funeral services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. A. Monkman, in the Pleasant View M. E. church on January 9, 1912, at 11 o'clock a.m. Scripture lesson 90th Psalm, Text 14th chapter of St. John, first four verses.

Interment was made in Hixon Grove cemetery.

The most sincere thanks are extended by the sorrowing relatives to all the kind neighbors and friends for their sympathy and helpfulness during this hour of their sad bereavement.
