Brandy Ann (Schafer) Border of Eldridge, formerly of Newton, died April 6, 2011, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport with burial at Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Brandy Ann Schafer was born August 8, 1973 in Davenport Iowa to David and Terri Schafer. She attended schools in Bettendorf, Baxter and graduated from Newton High School in 1992. She married Todd Tinnermeier of Newton and a son Troy, was born of this union. After divorcing, Brandy moved back to the Quad City area where she married Sam Border on August 31, 2001. A son, John was born on September 28, 2002.
Brandy is survived by her husband Sam and son John, Eldridge; son Troy, Nevada, IA; Sam’s children Ellen and Sammy Border; her parents, David & Linda Schafer, Newton; brothers, Doug (Pat), Brandenburg, KY; Todd, Bettendorf; Brian (Melissa), West Liberty; and Joel (Rynda) Westendorf, Altoona, IA; sister Skye (Bob Lantry) Westendorf, Newton; her in-laws, Sam & Pat Border, Davenport and Sam’s grandfather for whom Brandy was a caregiver, Sam Border. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Brandy was preceded in death by her mother, Terri Colbert Schafer; her maternal grandparents Chuck and Shirley Colbert; and her paternal grandparents William L. Schafer and Laura Burmeister Schafer.
