Tyler David Purvis, 21, of Newton died Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at his home in Newton.
A funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 11, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 11, at the funeral home. Memorials in Tyler’s name may be left at the funeral home.
The son of David and Diana (Woody) Purvis, Tyler was born Jan. 15, 1990, in Newton. He attended Newton Senior High School and enjoyed doing anything outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and camping. He was a lifelong resident of Newton.
Tyler is survived by his daughter, Layla Purvis of Newton; his girlfriend, Nicole Savage of Newton; his parents, David and Diana Purvis of Newton; two brothers, Mathew Savage of Newton and Tyrel Purvis of Newton; a sister, Patricia Doran of Newton; paternal grandmother, Sharon Reed of Otley; paternal grandfather, Larry Purvis of Newton; great-grandparents, Roy and Doris Dickerson of Newton and Ione Purvis of Newton; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Delmar and Patricia Woody, Forest Purvis and Mattie Acord.
