Lane, Florence M. 1916–2011

Florence M. Lane passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at her home with her loving family by her side.
Visitation will be at Fredregill Family Funeral Home in Baxter on Thursday, March 31, from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be on Friday, April 1, at the United Church of Ira at 2 p.m. with Pastor Tenny Hinshaw officiating. Florence’s final resting place will be by her husband Ted at the Restland Cemetery in Baxter.
Florence Marie Lane was born on July 16, 1916, to Joseph and Jennie (Plumb) Taylor in Ira, Iowa. She attended school in Ira. After school she married Edward “Ted” Lane. To this union nine children were born. Florence was a member of the United Church of Ira and belonged to the Christian Women’s Society. She enjoyed spending time with her family, writing poetry, painting, playing the piano, writing and singing her favorite songs, and stitching.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children Jim (Marilyn) Lane of Joplin, Mo., David (Aurora) Lane of Albuquerque, N.M., Judy Keagle of Ira, Iowa, Bill Lane of Newton, Iowa, Joseph (Kathleen) Lane of Union, Mo., J. Victoria Lane of Atlantic, Ga., and Phyllis Kay Lane of Belize; 25 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Gene and Dan Lane.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family. Fredregill Family Funeral Home in Baxter has been entrusted with the care of Florence and her family.
